Catholic Migration Services (CMS) provides free immigration legal assistance for low-income immigrants, including children in removal proceedings.

Services include full representation before immigration court, applications for relief such as asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), and other humanitarian protections (U/T visas, VAWA).

The office also supports youth pursuing SIJS by coordinating with family courts.

For those without counsel, CMS offers a Pro Se Plus program with resources for self-representation.

Services are available in multiple languages; no attorney’s fees are charged, though clients may be responsible for government filing fees.

Initial consultations are by appointment. There are only a limited number of consultation slots available.

CMS has limited capacity and may not be able to assist all who qualify and need services. 

Beyond immigration legal aid, Catholic Migration Services helps tenants fight eviction and landlord harassment, supports workers with wage and workplace issues, and offers “Know Your Rights” education in the community.
